GeekStuff4U, what is that all about?
GeekStuff4U is an online retail store specializing in exciting Japanese electronics, gadgets, accessories, lifestyle goods and much more! GS4U is located in the heart of Tokyo and boasts an international crew of gadget and Japan connoisseurs, who can communicate in several different languages. We go out of our way to present you with a wide variety of great new products found only in the Japanese market.

From the moment you start browsing our website, check out with your order, or contact our Customer Service team, we provide you with the highest level of customer service and professionalism – all the while, maintaining the courteous and friendly manner our customers have come to expect. Is your website secure?
Protecting your personal data is our number one priority. All information sent from your computer to our servers, including your name, address, credit card number, and PayPal account, is encrypted with technologies like Secure Sockets Layer using Comodo (http://www.comodo.com/).
How can I be sure that you won't disclose my personal information to third-party companies?
We take all necessary measures to guarantee the safety of your personal data. None of your personal data is collected on our servers without your knowledge. Personal data that you do provide us is used exclusively to process your orders and is always available for you to check and modify at any time. Not only is it illegal in most countries, including Japan, to share our clients' personal information with others, we don't feel it is a good way to further our relationship with you. Again, protecting your data will always be our number one priority!
Are your products available directly in my country?
Most of the time the answer is no! It is, after all, the reason we are here. As Japanese gadgets fans, we realized it was almost impossible to get your hands on the funniest, craziest or most useful Japanese products in other countries. Often, when some of our products do become available outside of Japan, they might look similar, but their specs may actually be different from what you would find here in Japan and on our catalogue. A good example of this is easily seen in items such as laptops and cameras.
How to Order
How do I place an order on your website?
Ordering on our website is a multi-process step, but we've tried streamlining it as much as possible.
- On the page of your product of choice, press 'Add to Cart' (after having picked the quantity and/or other options)
- Check the status of your cart, as well as the shipping fee directly on the My Cart page, to ensure it is accurate.
- If you have a discount coupon, enter it in the "Discount Code" field.
- Click the 'Proceed to Checkout' button.
- Make your choices among the various options and modes and click the 'Validation' button.
- It's done! You will receive an automated e-mail message from us, summarizing the essential information about your order.
Is there any other means of ordering than the website?
Although ordering via our online store is our preferred method of accepting orders, as it makes it easier for you and for us, we do accept orders by e-mail. The same information required for ordering products online will need to be provided. For security reasons, payment by credit card will not be possible. These types of orders, which we call 'Special Orders', can be completed only if your country is available in our database and the product(s) you wish to purchase are available in our catalog. Please contact our Customer Service team if you'd like more information or have additional questions.
What is the meaning of the availability statuses?
"AVAILABLE" means that the product is currently available for purchase on GeekStuff4U; "OUT OF STOCK" on the other hand means that the product is temporarily (or in some cases permanently) no longer available The handling time listed underneath is an estimate of how long it will take, from the time of your order, for your merchandise to leave our Tokyo logistics center. Please note that the length of this period may be affected by unforeseen conditions such as stock availability, natural or man-made disasters, political instability, or shipping service availability.
Is it possible to change the currency displayed on GeekStuff4U?
It is possible to modify the displayed currency for every price on GeekStuff4U.com website; simply select your preferred currency from the drop-down at the top of the page. Please note that prices listed in all currencies, excluding Japanese Yen (JPY), are provided for estimation purposes only. All transactions will be conducted in Japanese Yen (JPY) using official currency conversion rates at the time of the transaction.
Why should I register on the website, rather than placing orders as a Guest?
To our loyal repeat customers who wonder what happened to the guest checkout option in our shopping cart: Thank you! Also, we have removed guest checkout because it was confusing too many users into believing it is more secure or faster than creating an account on the GeekStuff4U website. Registering on the website makes available the following perks to customers:
- Your information will be saved for a possible future order (a considerable time saver).
- You will be given access to your personal account, allowing you to print bills, track orders, or contact our Customer Service team directly.
- You will be able to use discount coupons (discount coupons are only available to registered customers).
Payment Methods
What payment methods do you offer?
There are currently 3 payment methods available on GS4U:
- Wire transfer
- PayPal (account required)
- Credit Card (VISA, MasterCard, JCB, Discover)
If I choose to pay by wire transfer, will there be a fee?
Depending on the international banking agreements between Japan and your country, your wire transfer payment might require a fee. We advise you to check with your bank before sending any payment. Please note that any additional fee will be your responsibility. If the fee isn't taken care of by the client when the transfer occurs we will refuse payment and the money will be credited back to your account (minus any fees that might have been incurred during transfer). That is why we ask that you take those fees into account when sending money through wire transfer. If I modify the currency displayed on the website, what currency will my payment be in?
Your payment will always be transacted in Japanese Yen (JPY). All other currencies are provided for estimation purposes only.
Is my payment secure?
Protecting your personal data is our number one priority. All data sent from your computer to our servers is encrypted. We are PCI Compliant (the highest standard for security on the Internet), assisted by Verisign (http://www.verisign.com/) via PayPal to protect you to the best of our ability.
Shipping & Delivery Information
Do you ship to my country? How much will it cost?
We ship products to over 150 countries and territories all over the world – chances are yes, we do ship to your country! All products ordered from GeekStuff4U.com that originate in Japan are shipped via EMS or Registered Airmail. Click here for a list of nations participating in the international cooperative of our recommended shipping method, EMS.
If no method of shipping shows up for your country on our checkout page, please contact us by email so we can look into the problem. Once you have selected all the products you wish to buy on GeekStuff4U, you can calculate the estimated shipping fee using the interface on the 'My Cart' page:
What are the differences between the shipping services offered on the website?
There are many differences between Airmail and EMS:
EMS is an express mail service provided by a cooperative of over 150 national postal operators around the world; it provides a tracking number allowing you to track in real time where your package is located in the shipment process, as well as shipment insurance against damage, theft, or loss in transit. If by EMS, your package will be delivered in 4 to 7 days. GeekStuff4U will notify you via email when your package is shipped from logistics center, and provide you the tracking number to trace it throughout its trip to your doorstep.
Airmail is another (often lower-cost) method of shipment available on GeekStuff4U, and is available for packages up to 2 kilograms. Estimated delivery times tend to be longer than EMS – 7 to 12 business days – and Airmail does not offer shipment insurance. We recommend EMS to ship merchandise purchased from GeekStuff4U.com.
How long until my package arrives?
To estimate the time it takes for your package to arrive, add the delivery time (4 to 7 days for EMS) to the availability time present on our product page. For instance, if the product page lists the handling time as 3 to 5 days, and you select EMS as a delivery method, you have to wait a total of 7 to 12 days for your product to arrive. In case of a longer availability time, for example 5 to 10 days, you will have to wait around 2 weeks to receive your product. During this period, please log in to your account to check your order status, or contact us directly if you need further details.
My country is not listed as a delivery destination. Why?
Sometimes our destination country database is not properly updated; don't hesitate to contact us so we can manually add your country to the list. In some cases your country may not be available for other reasons (for example, the national postal service in your country isn't in the EMS cooperative). Please contact us to see if we can arrange alternate methods of shipping.
Will I need to pay taxes for my order?
Your order can be subject to Custom duties, import fees, and other fees and taxes in your country (for example, country specific VAT and processing fees in the destination country). Depending on the destination, these fees aren't a blanket charge applied to every package, but we have no way of estimating these fees prior to shipping, nor can we collect those fees at the time of the order. Additionally, GeekStuff4U will not declare purchased products as gifts or declare the price of the contents lower than the retail price of the products in the package, due to legal, insurance, and security concerns. Please contact the Customs agency in your country directly for any problems you might encounter in that regard.
Order Status
On my personal account dashboard, what is the meaning of the various order statuses?
After you have placed an order, we will display the order status in real time:
- Pending : your order has yet to be validated by our staff
- On Hold : your order cannot be validated by our staff (missing or incomplete information)
- Processing : your order has been validated by our staff and the transfer of funds to our account has been confirmed, and our order fulfillment personnel are processing your order for shipment.
- Complete: your order has been shipped; if you selected the EMS shipping method, you should receive an email instantly, granting you access to the tracking of your package.
After my order has been placed, can I change part of it?
Once your order has been validated and paid, it is not possible to change options, quantities or the shipping/billing address directly from your account page. However, if you encounter even the slightest problem, our customer service team will be happy to assist you in any way possible and rectify any mistakes if necessary.
After-Sales Service
Do you provide support for your products?
If you have trouble with your products after you receive them, or if the product only came with a Japanese manual, shoot the GeekStuff4U Customer Service Center an email at info@geekstuff4u.com to ask us anything. We have experience with a variety of problems that crop up in the products that we sell, and will be able to help you with most problems you may come across; and if we don't know the answer to a question, we will pass your inquiry along to the Japanese manufacturer of your product and let you know how they respond.
Do all of your products come with a Warranty?
GeekStuff4U sells products from many different manufacturers, whose warranty services vary wildly from 1 month to 5 years. All manufacturer warranties will be honored by GeekStuff4U for the full duration of the warranty, but GeekStuff4U is neither the manufacturer nor the provider of warranties for products sold on our website. Please note that GeekStuff4U's sole responsibility is to facilitate submission of defective products to the relevant warranty service provider, and as the manufacturer (or warranty provider) is the final arbiter of claims, GeekStuff4U cannot be held responsible for manufacturers' warranty service decisions, such as a refusal of service for damage due to customer neglect.
If I have a problem with one of your products, can I contact you? How?
If you think your product is malfunctioning, please contact our Customer Service team, who will do their best to take good care of you and help you solve whatever problem you may have encountered. If your product was working correctly and starts to gradually worsen, you should also contact our Customer Service team while your warranty is still valid. In case your product is no longer covered by its manufacturer warranty, we are still happy to try and help you with any advice or guidance we can. Please contact us and we'll let you know if we've encountered a similar problem before and/or direct you on how to get additional information on a possible repair.
I've been calling you for a while but can't seem to reach you. What's happening?
The GS4U team is available on weekdays from 9am to 6pm (Japan time). There is a 7- to 8-hour difference with Paris and a 13- to 14-hour difference with New York (depending on daylight savings).
